Lombardy (Lombardia)

Lombardy, a region in Northern Italy known for being the center of all things fashion and finance related in Italy. It's capital Milan is home to many of the world's most recognizable fashion brands, along with a stunning cathedral (Il Duomo), elegant mall (Galleria), and a heated rivalry between two of the most successful teams in soccer, AC Milan and Internazionale. Da Vinci's infamous "Last Supper" can be found in a convent just south of the Milan center. Lake Como serves as the main resort area in the region, surrounded by the beautiful Alps on the border with Switzerland.

Places on our list for this region include: Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, Lecco, Mantova, Monza, Sondrio, Cremona as the focus cities, 

Lake Como and its beautiful lakeside towns of Bellagio, Varenna, and Tremezzo,

Lakes of Maggiore, Garda, and Lugano with their beautiful sceneries,

And the smaller towns of Erbusco, L'Albereta, Moltrasio, and Sirmione.

Other destinations of interest include the Caves of Catullo, the Sirmione Spa, Val Camonica, and Oltrepò Pavese.

Franciacorta and Valtellina are two of the most popular wines in this region. There are many Enoteche (wine shops) that sell a large variety of wines from the region and around the world as well.

Some of the foods to try are Risotto all Milanese, Minestrone soup, and Osso Bucco.
